…In fact in my mind, religious moderates are extremists because if you can read a book and see countless references to murdering gay people or subjecting women as [slaves] or rape or murder, all kinds of things that are in the Bible and the Koran if you read them, and I promise you you’ll find them if you do, if you can read those things and have a reverence for that type of book in my mind that takes an extreme mindset, it takes an extreme form of bigotry to make excuses for these type of books. If I saw something in Mein Kampf about loving German people or if I focused on the Nazi party’s strength through joy policy and neglected everything else they believed in, everything else that they did, I’d be guilty of selective blindness. Of only looking at this minuscule good aspect and making all kinds of excuses for the terrible atrocities that exist throughout the rest of it. And that is exactly what Religious Apologists do.
